APRIL 2026 - CAR OF THE MONTH STORY – 1947 FORD SUPER DELUXE

This month we’re featuring John Duran’s 1947 Ford Super Deluxe 4-door sedan, a classic cruiser that John has proudly owned for the past 28 years.

John came across the car one day while driving down the street. After talking with his roofer, who owned the Ford, the two struck a deal — John traded his 1962 Ranchero for the ’47, and the rest is history.

The Ford wears a beautiful green exterior with a soft plush beige interior that gives it a comfortable vintage feel. Power comes from a classic Ford flathead engine paired with a 3-speed transmission and a Columbia rear end, rolling down the road on traditional steel wheels.

John enjoys taking the car out for weekend cruises and local car shows, keeping the spirit of the hobby alive. The longest trip he’s made in the Ford was a drive out to Palm Springs, proving this classic still loves the open road.

After nearly three decades, John’s ’47 Ford Super Deluxe continues to be a proud and well-loved member of the CAL-RODS family.
